Halibut and rock fish     See our Fish Run Calendar @ Google

All halibut, rock fish and cod are fished on the bottom with dead baits of jigs in depths ranging from 50-600 feet of water on anchor. Other bottom fish commonly caught include 8 species of rock fish, kelp greenling, ling cod, gray cod and black cod.

Bottom fishing takes place April through September with June, July and August being the best months. Halibut over 300 pounds have been harvested out of these waters. As a general rule most fish harvested in our local waters run anywhere from 18-100 pounds. However, you never know when or where one of those 'big as barn door' halibut will show up on the end of your line.

*Don't forget, we have excellent dungeness crab populations in this area. If you want to set a crab trap and try your luck please let me know.
